From November 16 to 23, 2018, the 10thShanghai Education Fair delegation participated in the 2018-2019 International Education Exhibition in Kazakhstan (Almaty Station) and exhibited at Tashkent University of Textiles and Light Industry in Uzbekistan. Many high school students who are studying in both countries or interested in postgraduate studies in China, some together with their parents, came to the booth to consult information about study in China. There are also overseas university professors and administrative personnel, as well as delegates from study-abroad consulting industry.
Zhang Wei, Consul General in Almaty, attended the International Education Exhibition and gave his congratulations. He believed that the competition in the future society is the competition of talents. China and Kazakhstan are implementing a national strategy to support youth development, reflecting the strategic vision of both country leaders to improve national competitiveness. The cooperation in education between China and Kazakhstan has been deepened and strengthened, and that will effectively promote mutual understanding, promote friendship and cooperation under the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative.
It was also learned recently that the 10thShanghai Education Fair was evaluated as one of the most important events of the Uzbekistan-China partnership in 2018.

During the education exhibition, the delegation also visited the famous Nazarbayev University and Nazarbayev Experimental School and visited the Confucius Institute at the National Institute of Foreign Languages in Samarkan
The educational exhibition activity covers almost every aspect of educational exchanges, and the participating universities can intuitively understand the status-quo of education of the two nations, where of more specific ideas are generated in regards to expansion of educational exchanges and cooperation.
USST has received a total of 98 students from Kazakhstan since 2012, currently 64 are on campus; since 2011, USST has received 23 students from Uzbekistan, currently 19 are on campus. As a matter of fact, cooperation with China has become a model and demand for social development in Central Asian countries, education is not only an important foundation, but a bond too. More Kazakhs and Uzbek youth are following the guidance of their governments and are turning their eye to higher education in China.
